Configuring Treatment Pathway Triggers on Appointment Types
Treatment Pathway Configuration in Administration may not be visible to you. Use of this area requires special training and certification from the Patient NOW Training Team. Contact your trainer for more information.
Navigate to Administration | Data Tables, Appt Types tab. Select the Appointment Type and the Treatment Pathway subtab at the bottom right.
Configurable Actions
For each of the options below, patientNOW will automatically place the patient on a Treatment Pathway and/or change the Treatment Pathway Stage for that patient. The actual assignment of Treatment Pathway Steps is controlled by the Treatment Pathway Configuration in Administration | Communication Admin.
Treatment Pathway
If the patient is not already on this Pathway, it will be started using the Starter Treatment Stage selected on the Administration | Communication Admin, Treatment Pathways tab.
Creation Trigger
This must be a Treatment Pathway Stage that is connected to the Treatment Pathway selected above. This is normally used to move the patient from an Inquiry stage to a Consult Scheduled Stage, or from a Consult Completed to a Surgery Scheduled Stage.
Check In Trigger
This must be a Treatment Pathway Stage that is connected to the Treatment Pathway selected above. This is normally used to move the patient from a Consult Scheduled Stage to a Consult Completed Stage, or from a Surgery Scheduled Stage to a Surgery Completed Stage.
Cancel Trigger
This must be a Treatment Pathway Stage that is connected to the Treatment Pathway selected above. patientNOW has specific functionality tied to appointment cancellation. This stage should be the Cancellation Stage configured in Administration | Communication Admin. Normally, these stages have specific emails and texts to get the patient to reschedule if applicable.
No Show Trigger
This must be a Treatment Pathway Stage that is connected to the Treatment Pathway selected above. patientNOW has specific functionality tied to appointment no-show. This stage should be the No Show Stage configured in Administration | Communication Admin. Normally, these stages have specific emails and texts to get the patient to reschedule if applicable.
